New Year.......

The sun has set,

New year begun,

Everyone so happy,

So gleeful,

Elated,

For what?

Making so many plans,

So many promises,

Resolutions,

Said in untroubled tones,

Alluring words,

Ornate writings,

But why?

Don’t they know,

Don’t they have an idea,

Yet another year has gone,

It has passed,

Faded away,

So many moments gone,

Chances no more,

Opportunities missed,

But those unfortunate people,

They don’t realize,

Don’t understand,

Comprehend,

The alarming fact,

At the moment that,

They are held hostages,

Are prisoners,

Captives,

Held by themselves,

In the jail,

The impound,

The prison,

Called world
